City View Drive Water Line Replacement

Evanston Logo for Website

Starting on May 12, 2020, phase two of the City View water line project will begin.  SCI Contractors will be installing a new water main line for the City of Evanston on City View Dr. between Haw Patch Ln. and Del Rio Dr. The water main line will be replaced, and each home’s water service will be connected to the new water main line. We have planned this project so that there will be very little time where homes and residents are without water. The contractor will provide 48 hours’ notice to homeowners before the water will be off and the outages will be short and within the work day.

During this project there will be times when this section of City View Dr. will be closed. The contractor will make the necessary accommodations to allow the residents in this section of City View Dr. to access their homes. Regular thru traffic will be re-routed onto Del Rio Dr., Laredo Rd. and Crestview Dr. Other traffic from the Aspen Grove/Brookhollow area should use Aspen Grove Dr. and Hwy 150 to enter the downtown area.

After the water line is replaced, the street surface will be patched and repaired and opened to regular traffic once again.

This water line replacement project is scheduled to be completed in early August.

A full reconstruction project of the street for the entire stretch of City View Dr. will occur in 2023. Why 2023 and not now? The street will be rebuilt with new sub-structure and new surface. The sub-structure of the street is not up to standard and is failing, causing the road surface to fail. This will take significant construction work and significant money to make the necessary repairs. The money for a project of this magnitude is provided through a joint effort between the City of Evanston and WYDOT and will be available for construction use in 2023.

We apologize for any inconvenience this project may cause. We appreciate your patience as we work to improve this water line and the street. Please contact us at the City of Evanston Public Works at 307-783-6450 with any questions.
