The City of Evanston will be conducting a controlled burn on Thursday, March 11, 2010 at approximately 8:00 am. The burn is a brush pile located just west of the Roundhouse and Railyards. If you have questions, please feel free to call the City of Evanston Public Works Department at 783-6450.
On Friday, March 19, 2010 the City of Evanston will be offering a barbecue dinner to welcome in spring for community residents. In exchange for non-perishable food items, which will be donated to the Lord’s Storehouse, a plate of barbecue (hamburgers, hot dogs, beans, salad) will be provided. The barbecue will be held at Depot Square in the Beeman-Cashin building from 6 – 8 p.m. There are two times of the year in which you can stand an egg on end, and this happens to be one of them. To celebrate this phenomenon, we will be holding an egg standing contest for all ages to compete in (eggs will be provided.) Come on out and celebrate the arrival of spring (and being able to stand an egg on end!) Bring the family, non-perishable food items for donation, and enjoy this community event being hosted by the City of Evanston! For additional information or if you have any questions, please contact Terri Arnell in the Planning Department at 783-6459 or at tarnell@evanstonwy.org Or, Nancy Stevenson at City Hall at 783-6301 or at nstevenson@evanstonwy.org.
